Designed for one of the most visible environments in tennis, the new player entry tunnel at Arthur Ashe Stadium transforms a highly trafficked architectural element into a dynamic part of the US Open experience, seen by millions of spectators and broadcast viewers throughout the tournament. A repeating pattern of illuminated lines creates movement, speed, and anticipation while drawing focus to Billie Jean King’s iconic “Pressure is a privilege” quote at the heart of the design. Each LED bar is individually controllable, allowing the tunnel to integrate seamlessly into the larger stadium lighting show and adapt throughout the event. The design was carefully developed around existing architectural and infrastructural constraints—including the Rolex clock, electrical systems, and a large supply-air grille—integrating these necessities into the composition without compromising the overall visual impact.
